Im surprised to see the new Apple CInema Display hasnt got this feature all ready or if it ramps the cost up too much have a version with extra gfx support and one standard. There you go problem solved and a trillion students (at least) globally buying into it.
The solution to me seems simple, someone invent an external USB graphics card. I use my macbook for day to day uni stuff and am happy with what is built in 90% of the time but every two weeks a group of us gets together for a games LAN and those of us with laptops struggle by comparison with turned down graphics settings.
I have searched but can find nothing, but feel sure that there must be someway of expanding laptop graphics.
Be it windows or MacOS built in graphics cards are average at best even in a £2000 macbook pro. It seems strikingly obvious that a laptops main weakness in graphics.
